10 Principles of Success for Studying Abroad | Advice by Kapeel Gupta

Would you like to be successful? Who won’t be….Isn’t it.

Now let me tell you a secret…

If you develop the habit of taking action, you become an action oriented person. If you keep on trying, nothing can stop you from being successful.

If you study successful people and do what they do, you’ll be more successful. If you study unsuccessful people and avoid doing what they do, then you will not be a failure.

Today I was listening to one of the speeches of Brian Tracy, the great motivational speaker, I couldn’t stop myself from sharing it with you. He summarised success with 10 principles.

Today I will introduce to those 10 principles if we act on them, practise them, your success will become predicatable. After all, who doesn’t want to be successful in life & business. I believe, you will have precious nuggets to note down.

Hello all, I am Kapeel Gupta, founder of study abroad academy. I am on a mission to coach and mentor 100,000 high school students and help them realize their dream of studying in the best universities of the world and build happy and successful careers for themselves.

According to Brian Tracy, if we apply these principles or have such qualities, success is predictable and without them failure is predictable. According to him, use them to the extent that it becomes your habit. It becomes part of you. They become part of your personality. So let’s begin.

Clarity - 10 Principles of Success

Principle 1: Clarity

It means clarity of thinking. It means knowing what a person wishes to do or achieve in life. He does not live in confusion. This is an important personality trait of successful people. They know what they wish to achieve in life.

Principle 2: Competence

It is the ability to excel in what you do. You will not find a successful person who is not excellent in whatever he does. Its very simple that you can earn a lot of money only when you are very good at what you do. So its an indispensable trait that to be successful, we must commit to be excellent in whatever field we are in.

Concentration - 10 Principles of Success

Principle 3: Concentration

It’s the ability to focus on one thing at a time. It’s the ability to do one thing at a time. One mustn’t be distracted by things around. Nowadays people have mobile phones to get them distracted. All the time apps are sending notifications that break that focus. So its mandatory to put away your mobile phone while at work to stay focussed. Successful people always focus on top things. Other than that, it’s a waste of time.

Time management is actually life management. You can achieve everything in life if you learn to manage time. Learning to focus, concentrate and discipline your self can lead to success. Nothing great has ever been achieved without it.

Principle 4: Common Sense

Yes, one can train your mind to have common sense. You can train your mind to think things through before acting. One must not take mindless steps. Every step or action must be fully thought of. One must learn to trust his or her intuition. Most of the time intuition gives the correct solution to every problem. Its like a GodSent Message.

Creativity - 10 Principles of Success

Principle 5: Creativity

Accept that fact that each one of us is creative. People sometimes feel that doing drawing, sketching or painting is being creative. Which is actually not true? They way we respond to different situations is also being creative. Different people respond differently in similar situations as every one is creative. Many times, we are full of curiosity. We ask questions. Curiosity gives birth to creativity. You must have seen that some children ask too many questions. If we have such people around them who quench this thirst, they become bright individuals. But many a times parents aren’t able to answer them or are too busy to respond, such kids stop asking questions. Unknowingly such parents do gross injustice to their kids. We must understand asking questions gives us information. This is an ever changing world. Even the business practices change over time. One way to update ourselves is to ask questions. So most successful habits keep this practice when they grow old.

Principle 6: So this brings us to the next principle: Continuous Learning

This is the path to development. Self made millionaires or billionaires spend 60 to 90 minutes every day reading or learning new things related to their field. One such example is Warren Buffet, one of the richest man in the world history. He used to read 500 pages every day. We must listen to the CD’s or apps like audible where you can listen on demand. One should listen to ideas of successful people and then put them into practice. As some one has said, ‘One Ideas can change the world’

Continuous Learning - 10 Principles of Success

Principle 7: Consistency

It is a must. It means you are steady. It means you are dependable. Its much better than flashes of excellence and expertise. All of us have heard the story of the rabbit and the tortoise. With consistency even a tortoise could win the race.

We must be consistent with our family, colleagues and actions. You must be Mr dependable. You should be a person that if you have undertaken a task, people should consider it as done.

You must a man of your words. Consistency is the Key to success.

Principle 8: Commitment

To make a commitment and then follow it is the hardest thing to do. One makes a commitment to the family, to friends, or to work. Wherever the person falters, that destroys the relationship. No success is possible without commitment. Most successful people pick the work they love, they specialise in their work, they become good in it so eventually got paid well for it and then finally held on to that money. They were continuously getting paid well and they didn’t siphoned off that money on reckless spending or gambling. Finally they became millionaires.

Commitment -10 Principles of Success

Principle 9: Courage

It’s the outstanding ability of all leaders. It’s the ability to confront your fears. It’s the ability to face your fears and not shy away from it. Its the ability to master them, win over them.

If you are afraid and you back away, it become the habit and you will never be able to win over them and be a failure. But if you face your fear, confront it, that will also become a habit and you will become a winner. Then no fear can be an obstacle in your life. You will find that most fears disappear when you confront them. So courage is the ability that keeps you going on till you meet with success.

Principle: Confidence

Yes. We must go confidently in the direction of our dreams. Act as though its impossible to fail.

And at the end I shall say “Never Give Up”. Develop this habit. In the initial stages, you might find it difficult. But keep going. Make it a habit of not giving up and success is guaranteed. Even Success will become a habit.
