6 Steps to be a Good Thinker

It is hard to overstate the value of becoming a good thinker. Good thinking can reap several benefits for us. It can result in increased revenue, create opportunities, and solve problems. It can be a game changer for you as it has the power to change your life.

So today I shall share a 6 steps template with you to tell you how to change your thinking. So please bring in your pen and paper and note down all the knowledge. Till then I shall wait for you.

6 Steps to be a good thinker

But before sharing the 6 steps template, first we should know what points to keep in mind before beginning the process of this change.

We must remember that Changed Thinking Is not automatic. It doesn’t happen on its own. If you need to become a better thinker, you need to make a conscious or deliberate effort for it.

Secondly, changed thinking is difficult. If anyone says its easy, it means they haven’t engaged themselves in actually changing it. No wonder, Albert Einstein once said, “Thinking is hard work; that’s why so few do it.”

Thirdly, changed thinking is worth the investment. When you take the time to learn how to change your thinking and become a better thinker, you are investing in yourself. Stock markets crash. Real estate investments can go sour. But a human mind with the ability to think is priceless.

Now with this we are ready to explore the 6 steps template to master the process of good thinking.

Step 1:Expose Yourself to Good Input

Good thinkers are always game for it. They always look for good things to get started. As its said, Good input leads to Good output.

One can read books or other good material of interest, listen to podcasts, interviews etc and gather the input available.

Step 2: Expose yourself to Good Thinkers

Spend time with the right people. I realised that my close friends, my colleagues and even some of my family members are great thinkers. I love them and cherish their company. I try to be close to them, listen to them. I see them grow through their actions. Each one of them is a good thinker. Like a proverb says sharp people sharpen one another just as iron sharpens iron. If you wish to be a sharp thinker, be close to sharp people.

Step 3:Choose to think Good Thoughts.

Good thinking is an intentional process. One must make a deliberate effort. It must be made a priority.

Try to think in a disciplined manner. Choose a place to be your thinking place. A place without any distractions. If one can find such a place at home, its great or go to some secluded place where there is peace and calm. Take along your notebook and pen and make sure to capture the ideas in writing.

Step 4: Act on Your Good Thoughts

Ideas have a short shelf life. One must act on them before they expire. Ideas come in a flash and if we don’t write them or act on them, they go away into the darkness. You will never be able to implement it as it got lost.

The right approach will be that when you have a idea but no time to implement it. Don’t wait. Think about the first thing you need to do, look at your calendar and schedule the time to do it.

Step 5:Allow your emotions to create another good thought

To start the thinking process, you cannot rely on your feelings. If you wait until you feel like doing something, you will never accomplish it. The same is for thinking. You cannot wait until you feel like thinking.

Lastly Step 6: Repeat the process

One Good thought does not make a good life. As people say an idea can change your life. Yes, its true but to sustain in that changed life, one must have a consistent flow of good thoughts. Otherwise, you will only be known as one-message speakers, one-time inventors or one-hit wonders etc.

Becoming a good thinking is not overly complicated. It’s a discipline. If you can follow the steps given above, you can set yourself to a lifestyle of good thinking. So be an Action Taker…
